COOTAMUNDRA CONGREGATION

A Lay Lead congregation
in the Riverina Presbytery, N S W.

At the start of each year we have a dedication service for the leader of church council, committee leaders and worship leaders. The following pictures are from the dedication service in February 2017.

Inside the church

Above - At our service on Sunday morning February 5th, we held a Service of Recognition and Dedication of Leaders. The elected leaders of Church Council and the committees they represent were recognised and thanked for their willing service. They were then charged with the responsibility of faithfully carrying out their roles as leaders of the church
Inside the church

Above - The leaders of the Church Council and Committee leaders are joined by our worship leaders. Some of the elected leaders are also worship leaders. Again they were thanked for their wholehearted ministry of leading our worship and preaching the Word. Their contribution to the church was recognised with appreciation. They each rededicated themselves to their important ministry.

We are fortunate to have 3 worship teams consisting of 4 or 5 people. The teams take it in turns month by month to lead us in worship. During January there is no designated team to lead worship, worship leaders are selected from those not going away on holidays. Each year the different teams take turns from February to December. Thus each team has a different month each year. This is not a hard and fast rule and it works well for us

A small number of worship leaders are authorised to preside at sacraments. The sacraments in the Uniting Church of Australia are Holy Communion and the Sacraments of Baptism. Usually one of these people take the service on the 2nd Sunday of the month which is when we usually celebrate Holy Communion.

Our church has a hearing loop for people with hearing aids.
